One end of the top rail came out of the brace in a wind storm, and the only way to fix it would have been to take the whole section off and remount it. But with this, I was able to just remove the one brace, nail this new joist hanger into position then nail the top rail into the hanger.building a fence around an apple tree to keep the deer out.I was on a time sensitive schedule to finish a product and it took 3 more days to get here. I had to take time off work twice waiting for this, and ended up having to go to lowes to get these. Not only were they cheaper at lowes, but they were better quality. Lose two stars for late shipping and one star for poorer quality.These are a little different than the 2x4 hangers I have purchased from my local home improvement store, I felt these are just as functional as the ones I have purchased in the past, but maybe these are a smaller gauge material.You cant beat this for the pirce. Way cheaper than the big boys.
